Robert Braithwaite

Chairman and C.E.O. at Luqa Pharmaceuticals

Robert Braithwaite is one of Luqa’s founding members and serves as the company’s C.E.O. since its foundation in 2010. Robert has lived and worked in China since 2005, where he initially built Almirall’s presence in the country, whilst leading efforts to develop presence in key markets like India and Australia and consolidated Almirall’s products as leaders in their therapeutic categories in Japan and Korea. Earlier in career, Robert was also responsible for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Before joining Almirall, Robert spent five years at Alcon where he gained understanding of medical devices through role of Surgical Financial Controller. He also managed their business in Africa and Middle East.

Robert has a BA (Honours) from the University of Humberside in the UK. Robert is a UK national and resides in Shanghai.

Shi Gang

Vice President, Sales at Luqa Pharmaceuticals

Shi Gang brings more than 15 years of pharmaceutical and medical device experience to LUQA. He spent more than 10 years at Pioneer Pharma, where he held roles of increasing responsibility that spanned from marketing and development to sales. His tenure at Pioneer included the role of Vice President of Sales where he built a high performance team and drove the launch of a number of marketing leading brands. He was a key member of the leadership team in the successful listing in the Hong Kong stock exchange in 2013. His extensive sales leadership expertise is grounded by early career experience as a physician at Shanghai Jing’An Centre Hospital. Shi Gang earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine science by Shanghai Medicine College in 1997 and an executive master degree in business administration by Fudan University in 2011.

Jack Wang

VP, Medical & Regulatory Affairs at Luqa Pharmaceuticals

Jack Wang joined Luqa in September 2015. Jack started his healthcare career as a medical doctor in China and as a medical university teacher before moving into the pharmaceutical industry in medical and regulatory affairs in 1991. Jack has witnessed the evolving and maturing regulation of China’s healthcare policy for the registration and clinical study management for drugs, medical devices, cosmetics and health foods. His long-standing expertise in medical affairs and regulatory affairs in China makes Jack be a pioneer in jointly working together for integral solutions in this field.

Jack’s industry career started at the early days of Pfizer China, responsible for medical and regulatory affairs for 6 years. He then continued his career in Wyeth responsible for drug and nutrition regulatory and medical affairs. In 2007 Jack became directly involved in the medical device area with Nanjing Meirui (GSK wholly owned company). Prior to joining Luqa, Jack was helped established the presence and regulatory affairs team of Merz China.

Jack has medical bachelor degree and master degree of microbiology and immunology.

Luis Juste

Business Development Director at Luqa Pharmaceuticals

Luis Juste joined Luqa in September 2015. Luis has lived in China since 2014, where he has lead the Asia Pacific Business Development activities for publicly listed AB Biotics. During this period he contributed to the expansion of AB-Biotic’s presence into more than fifteen new deals in key markets including Japan, South Korea, Australia and China.

Luis started his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 2011, as Area Manager for Asia Pacific for Ferrer International, a mid-sized European specialty company. He contributed to strengthening Ferrer’s presence in the region, with special focus in developing new business opportunities. Previously, he led the Commercial Missions department for the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce with a special focus on expansion of Spain’s cross-border trade with Sub-Saharan African nations.

Luis has a degree in International Business from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he has also been a Visiting Professor since 2013. Luis is from Barcelona, Spain, and resides in Shanghai.
